The Law Offices of Judd S. Nemiro, PLLC takes pleasure in announcing its annual dyslexia scholarship program. The program consists of two awards annually, each for $1,000, for tuition assistance at an educational institution. We offer these scholarships in order to help those with Dyslexia in continuing their education.
Dyslexia is a learning disability. It can hinder writing, reading, spelling, and in some cases speaking. It is estimated that it affects approximately 17% of the population. Those with Dyslexia often have difficulty in the classroom, and the scholarships are designed to encourage them to pursue their educational goals.
Description of the Dyslexia Scholarships
Two scholarships are being offered annually*, and each is in the sum of $1,000. Each scholarship will take the form of a tuition payment for enrollment at a university, college, community college, trade school, or secondary school. You need not be currently enrolled at an educational institution at the time you submit your application. The winners, within a year from the award date, will provide us with a tuition invoice from the school they will be attending. A $1,000 check will then be forwarded to the school.
You must be diagnosed with Dyslexia. We may ask for proof of the diagnosis.
The application, including upload(s), must be submitted no later than November 4, 2016.
To be considered for a scholarship, you must submit:
- The completed online application, including the agreement to be bound by the terms of the scholarship program.
- A short statement (approximately 100 words) describing your educational goals.
- An essay (650 to 1,000 words), describing how Dyslexia has affected your formal education. (In a word document)
You must complete the online application, including any uploads. The more compelling the application, and the more online interest it produces, the better your chances of being selected. The final decision in all cases shall be made by The Law Offices of Judd S. Nemiro, PLLC, at its discretion.
